Subject : Django Ratix | ||
Message: | Hi Dave, Chris here - formerly sound person at the infamous RG Sound Studio in Brighstone in '84-85. I think you may have paid a visit there once. I was trying to find info on Django Ratix, using the gift of the internet, and fell upon your site. So this is just a note to say that I've placed three (1, 2, 3) tracks that the band recorded, at the aforementioned location in the aforementioned period, on a Soundcloud page that I'm setting up, to support my return to recording after all this time (which has included spells of musicianship of varying quality in bands over the long period between now and then). I thought you might like to transfer them to your site, to add to the historical record, and I'd be interested to know if you can access them. If you e-mail me directly, I'll send back the link to the site. Great site by the way! Regards Chris |   |
Hi Chris longtime no see (Bestival 2006 to be precise). I will email you forthfifth. Additional: No! I don't know what any of them are called though the title "The Trash is in Us" is familiar. These are Post Martino Django Ratix Tracks and while musically interesting they suffered a bit from not having lyrics about houshold appliances and bodily functions over the top of them. I too have a Post Martino Django Ratix Track here (Running Round in Circles). Dog knows it's difficult to get the balance right between musical ability and heart (or in Martins case bowels) I know I've been there (once)! And they ("The Band Who Shall Not Be Named") are, in retrospect, the only band that I've was ever embarrassed about being in. P.S. If you can name "The Band Who Shall Not Be Named" write in now and win a prize!(Terms and Conditions apply) |   | |

Message: | Dear Mr Cheese E Bits, thanks so much for saving a copy of the Hammer and Sickle Party poster. I can't remember if that was one of Debs Pummel's creations, or someone else's. God, did we ever get it in the neck over that one :-) Thanks for reminding me that these days actually happened, and weren't just some dream of better times :-) I sang what I could remember of 'Umbrella Attack' to my daughter just last week as it happened. Now I can play her a recording. Prove the old man wasn't making it up. I think I'm supposed to say something like 'the Waltons were wankers' just to keep the bitching levels up, but to be honest, we were all totally in awe of you guys, especially those of us who genuinely were wankers. Cheers Jeff Flamingoe |   |
No really the Waltons were a big bunch of wankers, except for Sean, he was a c**t! |   | |

Message: | I last posted here around 2004, so much has changed since. I was astounded to learn that 'Annika' is now available on DVD. Naturally I ditched my Betamax to VHS to DVD-R bootleg and hot footed it to Amazon. Great to see this series again with pin sharp picture and sound. Would have been nice if a few extras such as cast/director interviews had had been included, but for less than a tenner who can complain, a fantastic time capsule. I also see that more Waltons tracks are available for download, thanks for sharing! |   |
No no, thankyou! Especially for leaving the first message of 2012 thereby testing out all the end of year mail management routines that I wrote eight months ago and only half expected to work.<\BR> PS See your last post Re:Annika. |   | |
